A Time of Power and Reconciliation: Saturn and Jupiter Conjunction 2020

written by: Aondreiel

As we approach Saturnalia, Yule, Christmas, and the other dawning winter holidays of what has been a challenging year for us all, we at Daimonikos Productions hope to add to your holiday cheer by expounding upon the once in many lifetimes event coming up on the Solstice; namely The Great Conjunction of The father Saturn (ΚΡΟΝΟΣ) and the son Jupiter (ΖΕΥΣ). In brief, from what the amalgamated Greco-Roman Mythos (Μυθος) tells us, the relationship between Saturn and Jupiter was a complicated one at best. Saturn, in an effort to stop any of His children from usurping Him as He did His Father Uranus (ΟΥΡΑΝΟΣ), devoured his children in a boa constrictor like fashion. Saturn's consort Ops (ΡΕΑ) tricked him into swallowing a stone in lieu of Jupiter who escaped until He was strong enough to meet his Father in battle to save His siblings and bring the Reign of Titans to an end. Now if your father tried to eat you and your siblings, and you came back to take His kingdom, it is safe to say family gatherings would be awkward at the very least . But being immortal gives the Gods a chance to forgive and move forward in a way mortals cannot. Now of course we know the story to be allegory and deep in symbolism to greater understand our Deities rather than a possible literal story, but it is our duty to see the parallels in our own lives to better ourselves and synchronize ourselves with the Divine as we mirror each other. Saturn eating his children tells us many things, and one thing we have always seen in the Daimonikos tradition regarding this symbol was that time eats/steals youth and a powerful parent will overshadow their children if the children do not better themselves with the tools left by their parents; however great or small they may be. Jupiter's victory is a sign that even though Saturn is the God of Time, time itself was not on His side, as all great things come to an end so something greater can replace it. In this case the reign of the Titans gave way to the reign of the Olympians. We have seen this archetype of a powerful father being overtaken by the son in many stories throughout human history. It is a part of life. So astrologically we have a great symbol on our hands as the great planets synonymous with our Gods go into conjunction in Aquarius which shows a great unification of power.

In the sky on the 21st the planets of Saturn and Jupiter will be so close they will appear as one magnificent star. Some think this star was what the Tre Magi followed to find Jesus Christ which would also be symbolic of a momentous Father Son relationship. Some modern spiritualists see Yahweh/Jesus and Saturn/Jupiter as one in the same in certain symbolic contexts. If you wish to know more about what we in particular believe in the Daimonikos Tradition feel free to ask us! The two great planets will be the closest to Earth(ΓΑΙΑ) since 1623 and the most observable since 1226. The conjunction is in Aquarius and thus poetically declaring the Age of Aquarius here and now. Aquarius energy is innovative, outside the box creative, altruistic, reforming, humanitarian, multitasking and science minded both physically and metaphysically. Jupiter Rules the 9th house which is the house of philosophy and higher education, what makes one have wanderlust and great curiosity, travel, ideology, career, ethos, spiritual thought in religious organization, law and more. Jupiter also rules the 12th house which concerns dreams, Karma, past lives, the secret and at times unseen realms, intuitive and psychic powers and of course deep emotions. This shows the great power in a balance of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos which must be understood to be a King like Jupiter. Saturn Rules the 10th house which is the house of world leaders and lifetime achievement which often desired by all. It is planning by structure, powerful parent energy, contributions to society, reputation, influence, your career, and more. The 11th house which Saturn shares with His father Uranus, rules communities, friendships, charity, wealth earned within group organization, and wish granting that influences things you join in together with others. Saturn is the great one who defines and gives foundation to something by giving it form and boundaries whereas Jupiter is a great liberator and giver of transcendence. He will guide you through your journey back to the heavens. We see an interesting system of poles with these two Gods, and much like any pole too much of one will steer you into imbalance. Saturn will ground you firmly in who you truly are by shaving away all your impurities while Jupiter takes you to the heights you can reach! Without both aspects working together you would be either too grounded or untethered.

This great balance of reconciliation of father and son is proof of the power of forgiveness and uniting for the Higher Good by letting time, love, and reason heal all wounds to a place stronger than they were before. Like kintsugi mends a broken plate and adds beauty to it not present before the break. In regards to spell craft Aquarius works with the ankles, shins, and calves, as well as the circulatory system. This gives context to the important relationship between the foundation the whole body. Aquarius is an energy that can give great knowledge to help you become a solid solitary magick user with an original identity. It also works with sex, power, career endeavors and its development, making friends and business partners, respect, ethos, karmic/generational healing, divination development, and helps give hope in hopeless situations, much like the symbolism of St. Jude. This is the power of the blessings of the Muses. Jupiter in Aquarius accentuates his already magnificent jovial optimism, and will help with finding opportunities through other people. This can help drive us into the next great phase of our lives such as new work, ending of old habitual cycles, help you set the time sequence for your future, help us turn our money into something greater to (i.e. building your kingdom instead of simply a pile of money to sit on). He can bring harmony to all your chakras and chi meridians. He brings inspiration and gifts in music, connects you with your ancestors, and will bring prophesies and more! Saturn in Aquarius is the disciplined humanist. He is the hard work that is needed to truly maximize the energies of Jupiter in this transit. He helps you take responsibility and helps you get through tough subjects you have been repressing that are in the way of you achieving your highest aspirations. He will bring true steadfast leadership skills, and will give you true security by giving you the firmest foundations to plant your feet. Also this is a great time to mend father/son or any parental relationships.

I implore you my friends read as many sources as you can on all of this as we have an opportunity to truly change the world for the highest of good by bringing the best of ourselves to our work. Now is the time to start a business, make a home, lay the foundation and set in motion the building of all your hopes and dreams. Be bold and be grateful for this coming Winters day you can give birth to all you wish to do in this life! I know what I am doing! So Io Saturnalia, Good ᛃᚢᛚ (Yule), καλά Χριστούγεννα and Buono Anno Nuovo!
