Boost Your Immune System with Elderberry

During this time it is incredibly important to keep our immune systems up and running. A wonderful way to do that is to take elderberry syrup!

We talk about elderberry a lot because it is such an important herbal ally. Elderberries contain antioxidants and are high in vitamin C. They can help with tame inflammation, lessen stress, protect your heart, and help ease cold and flu symptoms.

In folklore it is said elderberry lives at the center of the garden, telling stories of winters past and springs to come. Elderberry’s three phases embody The Goddess. Maiden aspect in the spring, abundant with petals, the mother aspect in the summer with her wine colored berries, and the crone aspect in the fall when her leaves are falling away. She is there to remind us to accept life’s cycles, the good with the bad. Taking time to dive deep enough into things allowing the cycles of repetition to enhance your understanding of life.

The standard dose for elderberry is once a day, but you can take 1 tablespoons up to twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night, for an extra boost! Do not take more than 4 tablespoons in one day. Here is our recipe!
